Ilanit is an Israeli-born artist with Iranian roots and a sense of belonging to the universe. She is a bridge builder - always seeking connections between seemingly disparate hearts, souls, minds, and worlds.

She is a devoted apprentice to the themes of love, nature, vulnerability, dark-ness, growth, and oneness. Through her artwork and herbal medicine, elements of nature become the gateway to remembering our shared humanity, sense of belonging and unconditional self-love.

I grew up feeling misplaced, without much belonging to any place. I was born in Israel to incredibly loving Iranian parents who immigrated to Israel in their 30’s. I never felt ‘rough’ enough within Israeli society as the Persian softness was rooted deep within me.

Wars came and went during my younger years and some of the most beautiful memories I have with my family were formed when we sheltered together during airstrikes. We lived separated from our enemies and their lack of humanity dominated the headlines.

It wasn’t until I moved to the US and became an adult, that I was able to reach the ‘enemy’. I began getting to know the ‘other’. They now had a face, and it wasn’t long before I discovered their heart. With each interaction my compassion, vision, and love expanded. I learned how similar we actually are, and most importantly, how much we actually need each other.

I have always been curious about the ‘other’, hungry to dive into the separation and understand it at its core. This hunger allowed me to dive deeper into the separation of the parts within myself that didn’t find their place in the world before. The parts that stem from deep love and compassion, ingrained in each human being on this earth.

These are the parts that fill my canvases, my drawing pads, and the walls of my home. These are the parts that seek a deeper connection with the Earth, with our original Mother, with the force that unites us all.

I continue to be a committed steward of the heart and soul… eager to discover and unleash our hidden gifts, the depth of our love and the magnitude of our expression.

Over the past several years, aside from my career as an Architect, I’ve followed the Feminine path of pleasure, desire and embodiment. I’ve gone down the path of natural medicine and become a certified Folk Herbalist through the School of the Sacred Wild, all to bring me closer to the tapestry that weaves us all together with Love as its golden thread.

This is my intention with my art and herbal medicine.

To free. To celebrate. To bring forth a world of humans who are in awe with one another and with nature, and most importantly, with themselves.
